Kathrin Linz, a member of the graduating Class of 1987, was a star Tennis player for the Rye Neck Panthers during her five year high school athletics career. Linz was Team Captain during the 1985 and 1986 seasons. Over her five year career, Linz finished with a 52-3 career record. In 1983 and 1985 she was the Class C Champion. Other achievements she made on the court include being named an All-Conference and All-Section player both for all five years she was on the team from 1982-1986. 

Linz became well known in the world of tennis and was ranked by multiple associations. She was a State Semifinalist and was ranked #3 in NYS High School Tennis during the 1985 season. Linz was also ranked #11 by the ETA for Girls at the age of 18 and was ranked nationally by the USTA. Linz continued her Tennis career after high school and took her academic and tennis talents to Yale University, where Linz played Division I Tennis.
