A 2005 graduate, Johanna set the standard for girls basketball during her time at Rye Neck.
Johanna was a four year varsity starter on some of Rye Neckβs best basketball teams. As shooting guard, Johanna led her team to its first postseason Section Final Four appearance in the County Center where she scored her 1,000th point as a junior. She ended her high school career as the all-time scoring leader, female or male, with 1,407 points.
Johannaβs high school career was glittered with accolades. She was named to a variety of all-tournament teams, including the Section 1 Championship team. She was a two-time MVP of the Rye Neck Booster Club Tournament. She was All-League for 3 years, All-Section for 2, and All-State for 2 years. She was also a Con Ed Award winner her senior year.
Her basketball career continued into college when Johanna signed to play with the University of Rochester. She earned Most Improved Player honors her freshman season and was an integral part of a team that achieved a four year record of 88-24. Those teams competed in four NCAA Sweet Sixteens and earned four Chase titles.
After graduating from Rochester with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health, Johanna coached a variety of AAU and high school teams, including two Mamaroneck High School squads. More recently, Johanna earned her MBA from the University of Connecticut. She works in the healthcare industry as a business development manager and a healthcare partner liaison.
