Brittany (Orban) Webb – Brittany is a Hoover High School Class of 2008 graduate. During her high school career, she played basketball and was a member of the track team all four years. Brittany was a four-year letter winner in both sports, earning first team all-Ohio honors for three years, first team and Player of the Year honors in the NE Inland District for three years, first team and Player of the Year honors in the Federal League for three years, and Canton Repository and WHBC All-Stark County all four years. She was selected as the Girls Player of the Decade for the Canton Repository in 2010. In her tenure at Hoover High School, she never lost to a county team, winning 38 of 38 games while scoring double figures in each of her final 77 games and averaging a double-double for her entire career, finishing with 1887 points and 987 rebounds. The Vikings in her tenure went an overall 81-15, winning three Federal League titles and two district titles. To this day, she still holds 12 records for the Hoover Girls Basketball team, including 2-FGM in a game, season points, season 2-FGM, season 2-FG%, season FTM, season rebounds, career points, career scoring average, career 2-FGM, career 2-FG%, career FTM, and career rebounds. In her track career, Brittany was a two-time state qualifier in the shotput and fifth place podium finisher her senior season.  She went on to earn a full-ride scholarship to Northwestern University where she was a four-year member on the women’s basketball team. She earned academic all-Big Ten honors and accumulated Big Ten player of the week honors. In 2012, Brittany graduated from Northwestern with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering which was no small feat. Following graduation, she went on to work for Marathon Petroleum for five years during which time she graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from BGSU. She currently works in Columbus, Ohio as a Professional Engineer and Project Manager for a large engineering consulting firm, Burns and McDonnell. Brittany and her husband of 9 years, Jared, reside in Westerville, Ohio with their two children, Colton (5) and Abigail (3). Brittany continues to instill competition in her life today by competing in Masters Swimming and triathlon events, having completed a Full Ironman, Five Half Ironman’s. She wouldn’t be here today without the love and continuous support from her family and thanks them for all of their sacrifices. She is thankful for the many wonderful educators, coaches and life experiences sports have provided along the way, building her into the woman she is today.
