Born February 11, 1939 in Akron, OH. Attended Akron City Schools in Ellet. Participated in football, basketball, and baseball. Graduated from Ellet High School in June 1957.

Attended Kent State University. Catcher on the Kent State Baseball Team. Graduated in August 1963.

Taught physical education and general science in Springfield Local School District. Coached boys’ basketball at the junior high and varsity level. Coached the Springfield Baseball Team.

Moved to Columbus, OH in June 1968 to accept the varsity boys basketball coaching position at Mifflin Local Schools. Also coached cross country and baseball.

Relocated to North Canton to accept the varsity boys basketball position.

Accomplishments:

- Coached summer softball travel teams 1983-2008
- Began helping Jim Boyer at Hoover as assistant varsity coach/pitching coach in 1985
- In 1991 continued as assistant varsity coach/pitching coach under Jeff Hite
- In 2005 assumed the head varsity softball position
- Won Division I State Championships in 2006, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014
-Federal League Coach of the Year 2006, 2015
- Stark County Coaches Association Coach of the Year 2012, 2014
- Ohio Softball Coach of the Year 2013, 2014
- Inducted into the Amateur Softball Association Hall of Honor 2014
