Glenn Collins leaves a legacy as one of Hoover’s most decorated distance runners, excelling in both cross country and track with a rare combination of toughness, consistency, and championship‑level performances. A 2x All‑Ohio honoree in cross country, Collins finished 22nd in 2000 and 8th in 2001 while helping lead Hoover to a third‑place team finish at the state meet. His senior season dominance included titles as Stark County, Federal League, and District Champion, cementing him as one of the premier runners in Ohio.

On the track, Collins built an extraordinary résumé with 6 All‑Ohio honors and a starring role on Hoover’s nationally elite 4x800 relay. He helped the Vikings finish state runner‑up in 2002 and state champions in 2003, setting a state record and the fastest 4x800 time in the nation that year. His career included 2 All‑American honors, 5 district titles, 3 regional championships, and 5 Federal League crowns, along with five school records across distance events and relays.

Collins continued his excellence at The Ohio State University, becoming a 3x NCAA Championship participant in cross country and a 3x Big Ten scorer in track, excelling in the steeplechase and indoor 5k. His achievements at both Hoover and Ohio State reflect a career defined by discipline, leadership, and championship performance—qualities that make his induction into the Hoover Athletic Hall of Fame richly deserved.
