2022 2008 Softball

Jessica (Simpson) Long is a 2008 graduate of Hoover High School where she competed in Softball. Jessica was a member of the 2006 and 2008 State Championship teams, and was named Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year in 2007, and Ohio High Magazine Player of the Year in 2008. She was First-Team All-Federal League all four years of her career, First-Team All-State in '06, '07, and '08, and was named Federal League Player of the Year in '06, '07, and '08 as well. Jessica finished her pitching career at Hoover with a 0.36 ERA in 784 total innings pitched, and still holds the Ohio High School Softball record for career shutouts with 69.

Jessica went on to play softball at Miami University, where she finished her career owning Mid-American Conference records in wins, innings pitched, and shutouts, and ranked second in complete games and strikeouts. While at Miami, Jessica was a two-time All-Region selection, two-time MAC Pitcher of the Year, and two-time Miami Female Athlete of the Year. Jessica currently holds the career records at Miami for wins, appearances, games started, complete games, innings pitched, shutouts, and strikeouts, and was inducted into the Miami University Hall of Fame in October 2017.

Jessica currently resides in Canton, Ohio, with her husband Scott Long and son Wes.
