• Swam for the University of Cincinnati for 4 years
• Graduated from the University of Cincinnati
• Began teaching and coaching at Hoover High School in 1970
• Spent 32 years leading the vikings

• 1988 Hoover Boys 2nd in the state • 1988 Hoover Boys 7th in nation
• 1987 Hoover Boys 4th in the state • 1986 Hoover Boys 6th in the state • 1996 Hoover Boys 8th in the state • 1997 Hoover Boys 9th in the state • 2002 Hoover Boys 9th in the state • 1995 Hoover Boys 10th in the state • 1994 Hoover Boys 13th in the state • 1996 Hoover Girls 9th in the state • 2002 Hoover Girls 10th in the state • 1992 Hoover Girls 11th in the state • 2001 Hoover Girls 14th in the state

Hoover athletes were state champions in seven different events and earned 56 All American awards District coach of the year 8 times
