Allison (Peare) DeVries – Allison is a Hoover High School Class of 2010 graduate.  Born and raised a Hoover Viking. Her mother, Janet (Baughman) Peare, Class of 1982, and father, Dan Peare, brought her and her siblings up through the North Canton City School system. She attended Greentown Elementary School, North Canton Middle School, and Hoover High School.  Allison was a three-sport varsity athlete competing in cross country, basketball and track and field. She earned a total of 11 Varsity Letters (4- Cross Country, 4-Track and Field, 3- Basketball) at Hoover. Allison earned four varsity letters in Cross Country, where she was a two-time Federal League Champion and two-time All-Ohio recipient. Allison was a three-year letter winner in basketball, where she earned All Federal League and All District honors in 2010. A four-time letterman in track, Allison was a five-time Federal League Champion, four-time Stark County Champion, three-time District Champion, two-time Regional Champion, two-time State Runner-up in the 800 m and a State Champion on the 4x800 m relay. Allison was a four time All Federal League selection in track, four time all Stark County, and a four-time All-Ohio selection. After high school, she went on to attend the University of Kentucky where she competed in cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field.  Allison graduated from The University of Kentucky holding four UK school records and earning three All-American honors with an individual 5th place finish at NCAAs in the 1500m. She also graduated with her undergraduate teaching degree.  Allison currently lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her husband, Hakon, and two sons, Jaxson and Griffin, where she has been teaching and coaching high school and middle school students. Allison has added a Literacy Specialist master’s degree and is finishing her Educational Specialist degree this Winter. Allison’s high school athletic accomplishments include, 11 Varsity Letters (4- Cross Country, 4- Track and Field, 3- Basketball),  7-time Federal League Champion (2 Cross Country, 5 Track- 800m, 1600m), 4-time Stark County Track Champion (800m, 1600m, 4x800m), 3-time District Track Champion (800m, 4x800m), 2-time Regional Track Champion (800m, 4x800m),  2-time State Runner-up (800m), State Champion 4x800m Relay, 1st Team Honors:  4-time All Federal League Track, All Federal League Basketball (2010), All District Basketball (2010), 4-time All Stark County Track, 2-time All Ohio Cross Country, 4-time All Ohio Track, Records Held: 800m, 4x800m, 4x1600m, DMR, 5K Cross Country.  College Accomplishments include: 12 Varsity Letters (4- Cross Country, 4- Indoor Track, 4- Outdoor Track), 3-time First Team All-American (Mile, 1500, DMR), 5th Place Finish at Outdoor NCAAs (2010), 2-time SEC Silver Medalist (1500, 800), SEC Bronze Medalist (mile), All-Southeast Region (Cross Country), UK School Record Holder- Mile (4:35), 1500m (4:14), 800m (2:04), DMR (11:00)
