Dr. Mark Stevens is a 1966 graduate of North Canton Hoover High School. During his time at Hoover, Stevens led the Vikings on both the football field and the baseball field. Mark played offensive guard and linebacker on the football team where he lettered three years. Stevens was also a four-year letterman on the Hoover baseball team where he played catcher. Following his time at Hoover, Stevens went on to play football at Indiana University where during his sophomore year, Indiana made its only Rose Bowl appearance in school history. Mark was not only a member of the football team, he graduated from Indiana University with honors, was a member of Phi Betta Kappa, and received the Big Ten Medal of Honor for excellence in academics and athletics. Stevens continued his education at the Ohio State College of Medicine specializing in orthopedics. Prior to his retirement, Stevens practiced medicine at Ortho Indy for 34 years spending countless hours on the sidelines of college and professional teams. Mark and his wife now reside in Indiana and although he was raised in NortheastOhio, he cheers on the Boston Celtics where his son Brad is the head coach.
