Kelsey (Peare) Shingleton – Kelsey is a Hoover High School Class of 2013 graduate.  She was the recipient of 10 varsity letters (cross country (3), track and field (3) and basketball (4).  During her high school career, she ran cross country and track for three years, where she was a 6-time Federal League Track Champion [400m (2), 800m, 4x800 (3)], 3-time Stark County Track Champion [4x800 (1), 4x400 (2)], 5-time District Track Champion [400m, 800m, 4x800m (3x)], 2-time Regional Track Champion [4x800m], and State Champion (4x800m Relay).  Kelsey earned All Federal League track honors (3x), All Stark County track honors (2x), and All Stark County cross country honors (2009). She was part of the 4x800 meter relay team that still holds the school record.  Kelsey played basketball for Hoover for four years and won Federal League and District Championships as a senior (2012-13). She was also recognized as the Federal League Player of the Year and Stark County Player of the Year following her senior season and was named 2nd team All-Ohio (2012-13), All Federal League (2x), All Stark County (2x), and Northeast Inland All District (2x) throughout her career. Kelsey continued playing basketball at Ashland University. During her career at Ashland, Kelsey played on teams that were Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Champions (2015-16, 2016-17), Division II Midwest Regional Champions (2016-17), and Division II National Champions (2016-17). During the 2016-17 season, Kelsey had the highest 3-point field-goal percentage in Division II Women’s basketball. She was also chosen as Ashland University’s 2016-17 Female Student Athlete of the Year. Kelsey graduated from Ashland University with an undergraduate degree in Psychology. She continued her studies at the University of Kentucky where she earned her Master of Science in Education degree and Educational Specialist in School Psychology degree. Kelsey currently lives in Rocky River, Ohio with her husband, Alex, and daughter, Stella, where she is a school psychologist.
