• Played baseball, football, and basketball in high school
• Signed with the Chicago Cubs after high school
• Graduated from Kent State in 1951
• Began teaching and coaching at Marlboro High in 1951
• In 1956 joined Hoover High School as a science teacher
• His teaching career would go on for 35 years

• 1980 OHSAA appreciation to the high school athletic program in the state of OHIO
• 1983 Boys baseball coach of the year
