Jud Logan is a 1977 graduate of North Canton Hoover High School. During his time as a Viking, Logan lettered three times in track and field and two times in football. Logan was a member of the 1975 and 1976 Federal League Champion football teams. As a track and field athlete, Logan set the school record in the discus with a throw of 171’11”, a record which still stands today. Following his time at Hoover, Logan went on to Kent State University and then had a stellar career in international competition. Jud Logan is a four-time U.S. Olympic team member while also competing in the Pan-Am Games, the Goodwill Games and the World Championships. Jud served as a team captain on the 1992 Olympic team. Logan is currently in his 14th year as the Head Track and Field Coach at Ashland University where he has coached multiple All-Americans and National Champions and has received numerous coaching accolades.
