2026 2003 Basketball

Amber Robinson was one of the most dynamic and accomplished players in Hoover High School Girls Basketball history, helping lead the Vikings to the pinnacle of Ohio high school basketball. A two-year varsity letterwinner from 2001–2003, Amber earned First Team All-County and First Team All-District honors while being named the District IV Player of the Year, Federal League Most Valuable Player, and Second Team All-Ohio. She was the Most Valuable Player of the 2003 OHSAA Division I State Championship Game, a defining performance in Hoover's championship run. Her career also included recognition as the Canton Repository Stark County Division I Co-Player of the Year, a two-time Akron Beacon Journal All-Star, North-South All-Star Captain, and McDonald's High School All-American nominee. She remains Hoover's all-time career steals leader with 328, a testament to her relentless defensive intensity and athleticism.

Amber continued her collegiate career at the University of Dayton, where she earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors twice before transferring to West Virginia University. At WVU, she helped lead the Mountaineers to an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2004 and a WNIT Runner-Up finish in 2005. Her competitive spirit, leadership, and championship pedigree helped elevate Hoover Girls Basketball to one of the state's elite programs and continue to inspire future generations of Viking athletes. Hoover High School is proud to welcome Amber Robinson into the Hoover High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
