Andy Logan was a standout multi-sport athlete at Hoover High School, excelling in football, basketball, and track, while later serving as a coach and youth mentor in multiple sports.
On the football field, Logan was a captain and earned Second Team All-Ohio, Second Team All-America (USA Today), and multiple All-Federal League, All-County, and All-Northeast Ohio honors. In 1984, he led the nation with 13 interceptions, helping guide Hoover to the State Finals, the first Division I team from the school to achieve that milestone. On the basketball court, he was also a captain, earning All-Federal League, All-County, and All-Northeast Ohio honors, and leading the Vikings to a State Final Four appearance. Remarkably, Logan accomplished both State Finals in football and a State Final Four in basketball in the same school year.
Logan continued his career at Kent State University (1985–1989), where he was a four-year letterman in football. As a senior, he once again led the nation in interceptions with 8 picks, finishing ahead of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Following his collegiate career, he signed a free agent contract with the Cincinnati Bengals in 1989 and participated in training camp.
Beyond playing, Logan contributed extensively as a coach in the Federal League and spent eight years as a youth lacrosse coach. He also owns and operates Logan Sports in North Canton, a family business celebrating its 50th year of serving the community.
Logan continues to reside in North Canton with his wife, Dede (Hoover Class of 1987). Together they have three children—Cameron, Taylor, and Drew—all Hoover graduates.
