2024 1987 Wrestling

Mike Elsass – Mike is a Hoover High School Class of 1987 graduate. Mike wrestled four years in high school, where he was a three-time varsity letter winner. Mike accumulated over 100 wins while wrestling at Hoover, being a State Runner-Up his junior year. In Mike's senior year he became an undefeated State Champion with a record of 36-0 and was named as an Asics High School All-American.  Mike attended Cleveland State University on full athletic scholarship, where he was a four-time letter winner. He was also a two-year captain, placing in multiple tournaments, as well as being a three-time Eastern Wrestling League place winner. Mike’s parents are Judy and Larry Elsass, both of whom are Hoover High School alumni. Mike has two daughters (Hannah and Hope).
