Mike Braucher was a standout multi-sport athlete  at Hoover High School, excelling in football, baseball, and basketball. On the football field, he earned First Team All-County, All-Northeast Inland District, and All-Federal League honors as a safety in 1983, recording six interceptions. The following year, as quarterback, he led Hoover to a State Runner-Up finish in 1984 and was named First Team All-County, All-Northeast Inland District, All-Federal League, and Second Team All-Ohio, while also earning Team Offensive MVP honors. That season, he completed 158 passes for 2,095 yards and 16 touchdowns. Braucher was also a two-year baseball letterman, competing for coaches Gordy Nicely and Mel Long.
After graduation, Braucher attended Ashland University (1985–1989), earning a degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Management and Marketing. He was a two-year letterman in football, serving as a punter during his junior year and quarterback his senior season. As a freshman, he was named Team MVP (1985), and in 1987 helped lead Ashland to the first NCAA Division II playoff appearance in school history under legendary head coach Fred Martinelli, a College Football Hall of Fame inductee.
Professionally, Braucher has built a successful career in business and currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer at Echelon Supply & Service.
He resides in North Canton with his wife, Jodi (Hoover Class of 1987, former varsity cheerleader). Together they have three children—Morgan, Kyle, and Zac—all Hoover graduates. Both Kyle and Zac carried on the family tradition by playing football for the Vikings.
Braucher’s late parents, Barry and Linda, were also Hoover graduates, underscoring the family’s deep ties to the school and community.
