Bryan Ashby is a Hoover High School Class of 1988 graduate.  During his high school career, he was a captain in three varsity sports – football, basketball and baseball.  Bryan was a three-year letterman in football, earning first team honors in the Federal League, Canton Repository and WHBC All-Stark County, and NEO All-Inland District.  He received third team All-Ohio honors as a quarterback in 1987.  Bryan was a two-year letterman in basketball, where he earned Top Free Throw and Top Defensive player honors.  In baseball, Bryan earned three varsity letters.  He was a two time All Federal League and All-County selection.  Bryan went on to be selected as an All-Ohio pitcher in 1988.  After graduating from Hoover, Bryan continued his athletic career at Kent State University playing baseball.  At Kent State, he was a four-year letterman while being a captain of the 1992 Mid-American Conference Championship team.  After college, Bryan played 10 seasons in the Canton Class A League.  He participated on four championship teams and was selected as a two-time All Star.  In 1997, he participated in the AABC World Series with Pinnacle Press.  Bryan was selected to the Stark County Amateur Hall of Fame in 2014.  Currently, Bryan is in his 6th season as head coach of the Hoover Vikings Baseball Program.  He has led the Vikings to a 74-38 record during that time, including the 2021 Federal League Champions.  He has won three sectional championships, one district championship, and his 2022 team advanced to the Regional Semifinals.  Bryan has been married to his wife Kristen for 22 years, and has two sons – Connor and Mason.
