Dr. Dale Stevens is a 1960 graduate of Hoover High School. As a Hoover student-athlete, Stevens earned eleven varsity letters between his participation in football, basketball, and baseball. While Stevens garnered several awards during his Hoover career, one of the most significant was being named All-Ohio in baseball as a senior. After Hoover, a scholarship led Dale to Colgate University in Hamilton, NY, where injury curtailed his football play after one year, but he lettered three times in baseball. Because of his accomplishments as a baseball player, Dale was inducted into the Greater Stark County Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. Following graduation from Colgate, he entered The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and received a DDS degree with honors in 1969. Wishing to expand his horizons, Stevens was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force for a one-year dental internship, which ballooned into a twenty-five-year career. He retired from the Air Force in 1994 at the rank of Colonel, and finished his dental career in private practice in Tucson, Arizona.
