Charlie Estey

Class of 2026

Charlie Estey was a standout multi-sport athlete and leader at Ithaca High School, excelling in football and lacrosse. A three-year varsity football starter under Coach Joe Moresco, Estey earned First Team All-STAC and First Team All–Union Endicott honors as an offensive tackle in 1976 and served as team captain. That season, he helped lead the football team to a second-place STAC finish and a memorable 32–28 victory over undefeated, #2-ranked Union-Endicott.

In lacrosse, Estey was a two-year varsity starter under Coach Mickey Fenzel and captained the team during his senior season. He played a key role in back-to-back Section IV championships in 1976 and 1977, further demonstrating his leadership and competitive excellence.

Following graduation, Estey continued his athletic career at Ithaca College, lettering in football, lacrosse, and varsity heavyweight crew. Despite a medical diagnosis that temporarily ended his contact-sport career, he returned to varsity lacrosse as a senior, exemplifying resilience and determination. His lifelong commitment to athletics continues through youth development, coaching, and service to the game.
