Abe George starred in football, basketball, and baseball, graduating in 1928. The High called him "one of the best three sport men That Ithaca High School has ever produced." He went on to become a member of Gil Doble's great Cornell football teams of the early 30's.

Long after his playing days were over, Abe continued to support Ithaca High sports by organizing the annual athletic alumni reunion held each year at Stewart Park. He is a member of the Section IV hall of fame.
