Harold Porter coached boys and girls track and cross country teams from 1967 to 1986. His track teams won 8 STAC championships. The boys cross country teams won 13 STAC championships and 13 Section IV championships and 3 NYSPHSAA championships. The girls team, running since 1974, amassed 3 STAC and 3 Section IV championships. They were undefeated IN 1974. Three athletes set state records. Coach Porter was the Ithaca Journal Coach of the Year (1970), NY State Coaches Assoc. cross country coach of the year (1983). He was inducted into the Section IV Hall of Fame in 1992.
