Edgar "Dusty" Bredbenner attended high school and college in Pennsylvania, played professional basketball in the old Eastern League, then became our athletic director, a position he held for 38 years, ending in 1958. He coached baseball, track, and golf for Ithaca High, leading his teams to numerous titles. He was a member of the NYS Athletic Commission and for 8 years was chairman of the State Health, Physical Education and Recreation Association. Our football field is named in his honor.
