Tom Parr, class of '69, played football and baseball. He was all-conference selection in football at defensive back, but is best remembered for his feats at quarterback, where in his senior year he amassed 1,437 total yards in an eight-game season. He went on to quarterback the wishbone offense at Colgate, where he was named the ECAC sophomore of the year and, in his senior year was named to the ECAC, New York Times and Associated Press all-East teams and was an honorable mention all-american. Upon graduating he was one of only three NCAA quarterbacks ever to accumulate over 2,000 running yards and 3,000 passing yards in his career. He went on to become a teacher, athletic director, and football coach at the Hopkins School in New Haven, Connecticut. He is a member of the Section IV and Colgate halls of fame.
