Mark was 136-1 as a wrestler from 1974 to 1977. He was state champion three times, STAC and Section IV champion four times. He was named "Most Outstanding Wrestler" at the state tournament in 1977. He won his last 101 matches wrestling at 98, 105, 112 and 119 pounds. Mark wrestled on the Junior Olympic Team and placed second twice in the National Federation Tournament. He captained the Syracuse University team in 1982 where he was ranked nationally in the top 20. He was inducted into the Section IV Hall of Fame in 1987.
