Tom Carmean was a three-year starter for the Ithaca High School lacrosse team and graduated in 1983. As a junior he was the leading scorer for the team and the league. He was named All-STAC and All-American Honorable Mention. As a senior, he captained the team and once again led the league in scoring. He was named All-STAC and selected as an All-American, and he went on to play in the North-South Lacrosse Game in Baltimore. Tom went on to star at the University of Massachusetts, where he was named All-New England for three years and All-American for two years. He played ten years of Professional Indoor Lacrosse, being selected to the All-Pro Team five times, and one year of Major League Lacrosse.
