Kevin Cartmill

Kevin was a standout two-sport student-athlete while attending Ithaca High School. He excelled in both the classroom and the athletic arena. Kevin is the first and only golfer in Ithaca High School history to win the New York State High School Golf Championships. He was a member of the varsity golf team for five years where he was selected All-Conference for four of those years. Kevin qualified for the New York State High School Golf Championships four times in his career. He won the Section IV Medalist Title in 1991 and 1992 and the STAC Golf Championship in 1993. Ithaca's golf teams won league titles in 1990, 1991 and 1993 under Kevin's leadership.

Kevin was also a two-year starter on the boys basketball team helping them to two straight Section IV Class A Titles in 1992 and 1993. He was a member of the first Ithaca High School basketball team to win a Regional Championship and make it to the Final Four in the New York State Basketball Championships in 1992. Kevin won the Donald J. Culligan MVP Award his senior year and was also selected the MVP of the 1992 Sectional Championship game.

After graduation, Kevin attended the University of North Carolina – Greensboro on a golf scholarship where he was a four-year letter winner. In 1996, Kevin won the Stetson Intercollegiate Golf Tournament with a school record 207 (5-Rounds).

Kevin was selected as the Kenny VanSickle Ithaca Journal Male Athlete of the Year in 1993.
