Terry Habecker graduated from Honeoye Falls High School, then from Ithaca College. At I.C. he was captain of the soccer, wrestling, and track teams, was an all-American in wrestling, and was the male athlete of the year in both his junior and senior years. He taught phys ed in our school district from 1969 through 2004, coaching wrestling, track, soccer, and volleyball. His teams won numerous STAC and Section IV championships and won state championships in boys soccer in 1978 and in girls volleyball in 1999.

Coach Habecker was instrumental in starting and shaping youth soccer and volleyball programs in the Ithaca area. In 1978, he was named the National Soccer Coaches Association Regional Coach of the Year and the Ithaca Journal Male Coach of the Year.

He is a member of the Honeoye Falls High School and Ithaca College halls of fame. Throughout the years he has continued to compete himself, running and placing in numerous marathons and triathlons. He has 4 times been named a USA Triathlon All-American, most recently in 2003 for the 55-59 age group.
