Dave Pitzer was an all-STAC first team selection in football, basketball, and track and was captain of the football and basketball teams. The three varsity football teams he played on were all undefeated (1970-1972) and the 1970 team was ranked #1 in the state. He won the State pole vault Title in his senior year, was named State track athlete of the year in 1970, and Ithaca Journal male athlete of the year in 1973. At Ithaca College he was captain of the football and basketball teams that twice advanced to the Division III national championship game, and earning all-ICAC honors, then was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys.
